RTG Employment Opportunities

RTG is seeking efficient, self-directed US citizens who are team players with good analytical and communication skills. Our facilities are located in a beautiful, first-class, smoke-free building in the southern part of Torrance. Superior performers will receive superior after-tax income. See the RTG Employment Overview for more information.

Circuit Engineer

Senior Engineer

Engineering Manager

Product Engineer

System Administrator/Programmer

Applicants interested in one of the below positions should fax a résumé to (310)534-3728 or email it in plain text or PDF format to jobs@rtg.com.

Circuit Engineer

Electronics engineer with a strong desire to design analog and digital integrated circuits at the transistor level. Hands-on circuit design using Cadence DFII and simulation with Spectre and Verilog is routine. In addition to circuit design and simulation, you must also be willing to perform layout tasks. You will be working in a team environment with layout and circuit engineers. You must be able to communicate well and get along with others. Detailed circuit design experience in one or more of the following areas is desired but not mandatory:

  • Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion
  • Low-noise amplifiers and receivers
  • Active mixers, active and passive filters, and AGC circuits
  • Phaselock techniques and frequency synthesis
  • Feedback systems, analog and digital timing and control circuits
  • Video signal processing
  • Power management control circuits
  • Mixed-signal DSP techniques

You will get as much responsibility and authority as you can handle. You will be responsible for creating designs on time with the oversight and support of senior engineers, documenting the designs to ISO 9000 requirements, and supporting the transition of designs from tapeout to production. Our customers are driven by time to market, so timeliness of designs that work the first time is the team goal at RTG.

Senior Engineer

Senior electronics engineer with significant experience designing analog and digital integrated circuits at the transistor level. Hands-on circuit design using Cadence DFII and simulation with Spectre and Verilog is routine. In addition to circuit design and simulation, you must also be willing to perform layout tasks. You will be working in a team environment with layout and circuit engineers. You must be able to communicate well, get along with others and lead by example. Detailed circuit design experience in one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion
  • Low-noise amplifiers and receivers
  • Active mixers, active and passive filters, and AGC circuits
  • Phaselock techniques and frequency synthesis
  • Feedback systems, analog and digital timing and control circuits
  • Video signal processing
  • Power management control circuits
  • Mixed-signal DSP techniques

You will be responsible for integrated circuits from start to finish. This includes creating detailed circuit designs on time, documenting the designs to ISO 9000 requirements, and supporting the transition of designs from tapeout to production. Our customers are driven by time to market, so timeliness of designs that work the first time is the team goal at RTG.

Engineering Manager

Senior electronics engineer to lead engineering teams working concurrently on 3 or more integrated circuits. This is not an administrative job. You must love detailed circuit design and be eager to learn and teach integrated circuit design techniques. Hands-on circuit design using Cadence DFII and simulation with Spectre and Verilog is routine. Excellent communication skills are required, as is an ability to get along with others. As the focal point for customers, you will: occasionally travel to customer sites; assure that requirements are documented and communicated to the customer and RTG team; make intelligent cost, risk and schedule tradeoffs; assure technical quality; and assure timely delivery. Our customers are driven by time to market, so the goal of the design team at RTG is to complete designs on time that work the first time.

Product Engineer

You will be responsible for all the product activities from design tapeout to customer acceptance of quality products. Your involvement will start during the early stages of the design. Hands-on experience with IC packaging and testing is required. You must be able to communicate well, get along with others and lead by example.

System Administrator/Programmer

UNIX, Solaris, Linux system and network administration for a custom integrated circuit design company with eight Sun workstations running UNIX, Linux, and Cadence IC design tools. Administration tasks expected to take 8 to 10 hours per week with the remainder of time spent developing programs and methodology to improve efficiency and quality of systems. Knowledge of the UNIX operating system on a Class-C network over multiple sites, security, subnetting, routing, C, PERL, and debugging is necessary. Knowledge of Cadence tools, SKILL language, web page hosting, FTP, remote access, and reverse compilation is a plus but may be learned on the job.
